AWARDS

We’re proud to recognise the amazing efforts within our club through our monthly awards! Each month, we honour a Player of the Month for outstanding performance on the pitch and a Volunteer of the Month for their incredible support behind the scenes. These awards highlight the dedication and passion that make our team and community so special.

You are all welcome to submit your votes per month to the club, where a winner will be randomly selected.

Player of the Month: Gunes Oksuz

U7 player who had an excellent game — consistently a great team player who shows up with a positive attitude, puts in maximum effort, and works hard every time they step on the field.

Volunteer of the Month: Rebecca Pickett

Welfare Officer and U12s parent who is always willing to get involved — consistently helping to set up the club shop, preparing the pitches, and supporting the smooth running of the club with a positive, hands‑on attitude.

Providing clear advice and acting as a trusted point of contact for welfare concerns.

Step Three: Resources and Training

Offering access to essential training and external safeguarding resources.

As Club Welfare Officer (CWO) we are responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and young people, which includes promoting a positive and respectful environment, safeguarding children, and acting as a contact for welfare concerns. We manage and report concerns, ensure compliance with safeguarding policies, help personnel understand their duty of care, and coordinate with higher authorities like County FAS.

The main responsibilities of the our role is as follows.

Safeguarding and wellbeing:
• Manage and report concerns about children and young people.
• Implement and ensure the club follows safeguarding, equality, and anti-bullying policies.
• Ensure everyone involved understands their “duty of care” to children.

Promoting respect and best practice:
• Promote FA’s RESPECT initiative to ensure a positive and respectful environment for players, coaches, and parents.
• Develop and implement best practice processes for the club.

Point of contact:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for any welfare concerns.
• Act as the link between the club, the Youth League Welfare Officer, and the County FA Welfare Officer.

Administration and education:
• Help ensure all relevant personnel complete required training, such as the FA Safeguarding Children course.
• Support safer recruitment processes.
• Encourage and educate parents and coaches on safeguarding and respect.
